Under-counter U-Line in the island, running constantly and never getting below sixty. Turned out the condenser was packed solid with dust and dog hair because the toe-kick grille had been blocked by the cabinet trim. He cleaned it, checked the discharge temperature, and told me straight that the compressor was fine and did not need replacing.

What it costs
One number is published on this site and it is the service call. Everything else depends on what failed, and we would rather tell you the real price after measuring than a made-up range before.
$89 service call · waived when the repair is booked
Waived when the repair is booked
$89 to come out and diagnose the fault by measurement. Book the repair with us and the $89 comes off. Decline the repair and it is what you have paid for a straight answer and a written note of what we found.
A range would be a lie
Wine cooler repairs run from a twenty-minute fan swap to a sealed-system repair on a built-in column that has to come out on rails. Publishing a range that covered both would tell you nothing, and every quote given over the phone before anybody has measured anything is a guess dressed as a number.
So we do it the other way round. The service call is fixed and published. The diagnosis is done properly. Then you get the actual price for the actual fault, and the decision is yours with real information in front of you.
What the repair price depends on
- Which part failed
- A fan, a thermistor, a start relay, a gasket or a hinge set are at one end of the range. A control board, a damper assembly or a sealed-system repair is at the other. The diagnosis decides it, not the brand on the door.
- Whether the part is supported
- Manufacturers that still stock parts for a fifteen-year-old cabinet make repairs straightforward. Where a part is discontinued we match on specification, which sometimes costs less and sometimes costs more.
- Access
- An under-counter unit that slides out on its own is a different job from a built-in column that has to come out on rails with the toe-kick and anti-tip bracket removed. We tell you which one you have before we start.
- Whether it is worth doing at all
- On a small thermoelectric cabinet the parts and labour for a dead module can approach what the unit is worth. We give you that number and let you decide. Saying so costs us the job and it is still the right answer.
Pricing questions
How much is a wine cooler repair?
We do not publish repair prices, because a fan and a sealed-system repair are not the same job and any number that covered both would be useless to you. The $89 service call buys a proper diagnosis by measurement, and you get the exact price for the repair before any work starts.
What does the $89 cover?
Coming out, and diagnosing the fault properly — calibrated probe on the shelf, panel and discharge-air readings, condenser and grille inspection, sensor resistance against its curve, door and drain check. Not guessing. It is waived when you book the repair with us.
When do I find out the price?
Before anything is opened up beyond diagnosis. You get the failed part named, the price to fix it, and a straight opinion on whether that repair makes sense on that machine.
Do you charge for a second visit if a part has to be ordered?
No. If the diagnosis needs a part ordered against the model and serial, fitting it is part of the same job.
What if I decide not to go ahead?
Then you have paid $89 for an honest diagnosis and a written note of what we found, which is worth having whether you repair, replace or live with it.

What people say
Tall wine column that had been drifting warm for weeks. He found the condenser fan seized and a control board that had been running the compressor flat out to compensate. Fan and board replaced with genuine OEM parts, and he stayed to watch it pull down before he left.
Perlick where the display read the set point but the wine was clearly warm. He proved the sensor was reading four degrees low by comparing it to a calibrated probe on the shelf. Thermistor replaced. Simple in the end, but I would never have found it.
