Wine coolers in Los Altos
An integrated cabinet with a custom panel on the door is a different machine from the one that left the factory. The panel adds weight, the hinge tension was set for the original door, and within a couple of years the door stops pulling itself shut in the last inch. A door resting a millimetre open is a permanent leak, and it produces warm wine, condensation and mould on the gasket all at once.
In the Hills the other factor is ambient. Houses with large west-facing glass push kitchen temperatures well above what the appliance specification assumes on summer afternoons, and a machine at the edge of its capacity will hold overnight and drift every afternoon. That pattern is diagnostic on its own.

What people say
Under-counter U-Line in the island, running constantly and never getting below sixty. Turned out the condenser was packed solid with dust and dog hair because the toe-kick grille had been blocked by the cabinet trim. He cleaned it, checked the discharge temperature, and told me straight that the compressor was fine and did not need replacing.
Condensation running down the inside of the glass door of our built-in every summer. He explained the dew-point maths, checked the door heater circuit, and found it open. Replaced the heater wire assembly and the glass has been clear since. He did not charge us for a second visit to confirm it.
